Check out Tala Madani‘s recently opened show at Lombard-Fried Projects of new paintings and animations, up through April 3. Get excited: the INDEPENDENT, a “new model and temporary exhibition forum” is opening (free of charge!) at the former X-initiative this Thursday, and will feature Claire Fontaine in the form a neon text work, on view 24 hours a day during the run of the entire project, March 4-7. Macha Monkey’s “The Adventures of Herculina” opens March 5 at Annex Theatre– the first incarnation of which was directed by none other than Christopher Durang with a cast of Julliard students. Noah Baumbach‘s newest film starring Ben Stiller Greenberg was revealed as the List’s Surprise Film at the Glasgow Film Festival. In the lead-up to her retrospective at the MoMA, Artinfo invited Marina Abramovic to chat with Laurie Anderson about the history of performance art. Why not compare and contrast it our 2003 conversation between Abramovic and Anderson, available online here? And we hope you had a chance to see Gabriel Orozco‘s beautiful, sprawling exhibition at MoMA, because it just closed on Monday. Goodbye, sawed-in-half car!
