The working artists answers are well considered and practical. Ms. Saccoccio's question "what is the current state of abstraction?" was a reasonable post as well. The remaining three paragraphs after this simple question are incomprehensible postmodern posing. I have liked Bomb for the artist to artist content, but please leave the art school dissertation where it belongs - on the teachers desk. As an interested reader I find these paragraphs to be pretentious and elitist. Something that I have never found Bomb to be fundamentally opposed to.

Akilah's work leaves me weeping. "A Toast In The House Of Friends" sits on my nightstand with other sacred text. It is deep and revealing, filled full of love, light and memories.

I open it most often in search of something, not knowing where my eyes will fall. Looking for answers or peace...peace of mind.

It is a powerful work! Her investigation into the whole of life, the living and the dead is real and I've had the gift of living some of this with her as; dear sista friend, kindred artist, GODDESS SISTA, witness....

She has, in this book, as it is with the whole of her life/work shared her authentic self...

Having had the pleasure of both knowing Akilah as a friend and studying under her stellar tutelage, this new work is touching. True feelings...those which we all share---grief, anger, loss---and so many others, present themselves in a multi-media fashion which deserves more than praise. Thanks you for sharing your talents with us Akilah Oliver.
